We are lucky in Solano County to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, Solano County's parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, are a great place to meet old friends (and make new! friends), and they're FREE!
I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in Solano County.
Locations are listed alphabetically:
Andrews Park
What we love about Andrews Park:
This park is one of our favorites! Great for kids big and small. Conveniently located downtown by the library and local restaurants. We love to bike, scooter or walk along the creek - plus there's lots of shade! There is also a nearby bathroom and drinking fountain. My dogs love coming here too as there's lots of grass for them to run around on.This is a great spot for a picnic with several tables. My son's favorite thing to do is play hide and seek, swing and challenge himself to walk across the balance features.
This park always has so many great events going on here. Fiesta days, music, creek walk, food truck mania, Easter egg hunt, farmers market, movies in the park and so much more!

Children's Wonderland
What we love about Children's Wonderland:
While we haven't been since my guy was little I absolutely LOVE this park! Aside from the fact that it is completely fenced in meaning lots of space to run around, it's adorable. There is an awesome sand pit, train, teapot slide, firetruck and lots of structures to climb on. It;s well worth the $3 admission for older kids and kids & under 2 are free! There's also of picnic tables and water fountains, plus they do party reservations do it would be another great place to have a birthday party! When my son was little, he would spend hours in the sand pit and spend most of his time between the train the fire truck he adored so much.

Laurel Creek Park
What we love about Laurel Creek Park:
First of all this park is HUGE! Laurel Creek park has three different areas for the kids. The park is equipped with swings(my kids favorite) for infants up to the older kids, slides, and monkey bars. There's a great walking path and lots of grassy areas with a picnic area to BBQ. Pets are welcome as long as they're on a leash! There's also two baseball fields for the little leagues.

Ninth Street Park
What we love about Ninth Street Park:
Known locally as,"Ninth Street Park", this a local favorite. There is a play ground for ages 1- 7 with a large grassy area, and volley ball court. There's also two tables which are first come first serve with a grand view to the south and west. But our favorite part of the park, hands down, is the large beach area where you can swim, lay out in the sun or kayak. There is a bit of a walk to the bathrooms but I love the path with the view overlooking the water and plenty of parking!

Nut Tree Plaza
What we love about the Nut Tree Plaza:
There's a little bit of shopping, food & fun for the entire family here. .The play area is fenced and has lots of equipment for younger children. There's a train and carousel for the kids, picnic tables and play areas. Tickets for the rides are $2/ticket (they offer a discount on Thursdays for military members) which is pretty good. The train goes about every 15 minutes and it goes twice around the track. The carousel ride lasts for roughly 3 minutes. I would say this is the perfect play place for toddlers and children under the age of 6. Afterwards, we always head to Fenton's for some ice cream!
