Five Solano County Breakfast Spots We Love

In Vacaville and Beyond!

By Erin Ardans November 12, 2019

My kids and my husband love to go out to breakfast in around town on a weekend morning. I can't say I often tell them no.

After all, what’s not to love about breakfast? No matter what kind of breakfast you’re in the mood for -- the sweet or the savory -- you can find it in Vacaville and beyond.

Plus … breakfast has bacon!

Hungry for breakfast in Solano County yet?

I am! So I've rounded up my family's choices for the top five breakfast spots in the Solano County area, along with the reasons that my family loves them. I've listed them in alphabetical order:

Black Bear Diner

951 Merchant St, Vacaville; Phone number (707) 448-1500

Hours: Open every day from 6AM to 10PM, plus you can order breakfast all day

What we love: They have HUGE portions so come hungry or plan to share with someone! On weekends they have a balloon lady that comes around for the kids. My son was excited to get one but she never came back to our table sadly.

Pro tip: When you order the biscuits on the side you can add gravy for a $1, because why not? We will definitely be back!

Crepes N More

620 Jackson St, Fairfield; (707) 428-2210

Hours: Open every day from 7PM to 2PM

What we love: My favorite is the Seafood Benedict! We also love the Crepes of course! I love the savory eggs Florentine and the sweet strawberry nutella. You can't got wrong with these and they're so filling!

Be prepared to spend a bit more on the kids meals here so if you have more than a kid or two it could be a bit pricey ($7 for a kids meal).

Huckleberry’s

3101 Travis Blvd, Fairfield; Phone number (707) 427-3800

Hours: Open every day from 7PM to 3PM, plus you can order breakfast all day

What we love: My favorite thing was the Belgian waffle and paired with the Swamp Tea (Raspberry iced with huckleberries in a sugar rimmed mason jar) is such a treat!

They have good selection for kids on the menu and it's reasonably priced (only 4.99). It's a nice little spot for a weekend brunch while in Fairfield, we will definitely visit again!

Joy of Eating Café

535 Solano St, Suisun City; (707) 426-1147

Hours: Open every day from 7PM to 2PM, plus you can order breakfast all day

What we love: I loved the California Omelette with real crab and avocado you can't go wrong (can you tell I love seafood?) This restaurant is a lot smaller so be prepared for a wait on busy weekends.
My son loved his mickey pancake and eggs (it was $3.75 when we went) which was a very good price.

Valley Cafe

4171 Suisun Valley Rd, Fairfield; (707) 864-2507

Hours: Open every day from 7PM to 3PM

What we love: I love this place for breakfast or brunch! It's a little out of the way but that's what makes it a hidden gem! I ordered the feta omelette and it was delicious! They are very affordable as well and great place for the kids ($6.75 for great portions)!

Do plan to wait a few minutes for a table as it's a local favorite and they do get busy!
